Your Privacy Explained In Plain English

Privacy pages are notoriously difficult to read. Full of legalese that no-one reads. Instead, we aim to be as transparent as possible and outline exactly what information we collect and how we use it in easy to understand English.

Unlike most organizations, we haven’t created this page to comply with a piece of legislation or cover our asses. We’ve written it so you know exactly what information we have on you and how we use it.

What We Know About the Average Visitor

We don’t collect much about the average visitor. We use privacy focused Fathom Analytics and collect some minimal information about you:

  • How many people visit the website
  • Which website led you here
  • Which pages you visit
  • Which device you use
  • What browser you’re using
  • Which country you’re connecting from

All this data is completely anonymous and we cannot access details on individual visitors.

What We Know About Subscribers

If you signup to our newsletter, we store:

  • Your email address
  • Your first name

We use ConvertKit to manage our subscription lists. We use the same company for all newsletter signups and they’re very well known with an excellent reputation.
ConvertKit will tell us the following:

  • When you have opened an email
  • When you have clicked a link

We’ll rarely need to look at individual subscribers – our primary concern is making sure that we’re providing value and making sure you’re aware of the latest from Stiff Upper Lip.

What Do We Do With Your Data?

Not much! We’ll use Fathom Analytics and ConvertKit data to help inform us how well our content and outreach is performing.

We never pass any of the data we collect (including your email address) to any other third party. We do not track you beyond our website.

What If You Are Unhappy With How We Hold Your Data?

If you have any concerns, you can always contact us. We’ll happily delete any information we might hold on you.

If you’re a newsletter subscriber, you can unsubscribe at the bottom of each email you receive from us.

We believe that privacy is of utmost importance and we aim to be as transparent as possible about the information we collect and what we do with it. If you have any questions, you can always contact us.
